An Example...

A2Z Home Inspections was able to offer witness testimony in a case involving the collaboration of an inspector and contractor to build a house that was not up to code. The house was built, and a year later, was literally collapsing. There were severe problems with the roof, the foundation, the electric work, the heating and cooling systems, and settlement. Needless to say, the buyer sought satisfaction - but the contractor filed bankruptcy to avoid paying. With the help of A2Z, however, the buyer was not only able to avoid paying $25,000 remaining in payments, but was also able to collect on damages from defects. In all, the settlement totaled $50,000. Sellers can credit money to buyers as long as the credit is called a credit for buyers' nonrecurring closing costs. Lenders usually limit the amount of such a credit to 3 percent of the purchase price or equal to the actual amount of the nonrecurring closing costs, whichever is less.
